CARE GROUP MINISTRY

Pleasant Hill's Care Groups are Great Places to get Connected!

What is a Care Group?

1. Fellowship
2. Group Prayer
3. Relevant bible study
4. Caring Outreach

What you'll experience in our Care Groups...

  • a supportive environment during times of crisis
  • a place to grow in faith with other believers and be accepted
  • a great place to make deeper friendships and learn to care for others
  • fun ice-breakers, fellowship, social get-togethers and good food
  • a place where God meets your heart at its greatest need
  • practical bible studies and lively discussions that encourage you to examine deeper who God is and his purpose for you
  • a place of POWER as you see God answer prayers and change lives.
  • God's presence as He honors our commitment to regularly meet with Him and each other
  • dedicated Care Group leaders who really care about YOU and are there to serve you

We create a safe environment for growth by obeying our Care Group Covenant, agreed upon by members, which states the following:

  • anything shared in Care Group is held in strict confidence
  • everyone is given the right to their own opinion, questions are encouraged and respected
  • we don't discuss other's faults but seek to have God change us
  • we look to the Word of God as our guide to truth and use the "bible only" for bible study providing common ground for any believer to join us
  • we are sensitive to others by keeping our comments short
  • we seek the mind of Christ
  • we choose to set aside time as often as possible to pray for group prayer requests
  • we make Care Group a priority by regular attendance so we may bond together
  • we are an open group and encourage you to invite friends, neighbors, coworkers, unbelievers
  • we allow permission to be called upon by fellow members in time of crisis

Care Group members feel a sense of purpose in their lives and are learning to love and be loved. Here are some testimonies from a few Care Group members:

"It has made such a difference having a group of believers we can pray and have fellowship with as well as grow together in our walk with God. Just knowing there is a caring group there to support us has made such a difference in our lives!"

"I learned about God's Agape love during our Care Group bible study,. It inspired to me to reach out to a friend I had been estranged from because of a misunderstanding. I reached out to them and we came together as friends. How glad I am that God heals broken relationships through His Love."

"My walk with God has grown so much since I've been in a Care Group. I am learning to pray about everything, with anybody, anytime. My relationship with my Father has grown tremendously and I have joy! I feel loved and accepted and especially that I belong! I would never try to walk the Christian life alone ever again! "

"After being prayed for at the Care Group meeting, my depression left me."

"God changed my hostile work environment."

Our Mission:

Our goal is to mirror the early church which met constantly in small groups to strengthen and lovingly encourage each other through prayer, sharing and study that the body of Christ might have unity. Hebrews 10:23-25. "Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds. And let us not neglect our meeting together as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near." Romans 12:9-16. "Don't just pretend that you love others, really love them... and take delight in honoring each other... be prayerful.. When others are happy be happy with them... If they are sad, share their sorrow...enjoy the company of ordinary people." Acts 2:42-44. "They joined with other believers and devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and fellowship, sharing in the Lord's Supper and in prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all...all the believers met together constantly and shared everything they had.. they worshiped at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper and shared their meals with great joy...all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people... And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.

God in the Old Testament brought groups of people together. "I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob, I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel."..Micah 2:12. Jesus began the Christian Church by forming a small group of 12 disciples that grew in faith and learned from Him together. Early Christians met daily to break bread in homes. Jesus and His followers taught the importance of lovingly supporting each other. Also, every reformation and revival began with people meeting together regularly in small groups for prayer and study.
