It's important for us to protect your children. When children are being left off or picked up from school,
PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN THE SIGN-IN SHEET WITH THEIR FULL FIRST AND LAST NAME AND WALK THEIR CHILD INTO THE APPROPRIATE CLASSROOM where a teacher will greet him/her.
Sometimes tears accompany the first day of school. Be assured
the staff will give support and can handle the situation. Be sure your child
understands that you are not abandoning him/her, but will return "when
school is over" (some do not understand the concept of time). Give your
child a hug and a kiss, then please leave.
A child will be released to NO ONE but his/her parents, UNLESS the individual's name is listed on the enrollment card or we are informed in advance. This person must be able to show identification before the child will be released. You may telephone an authorization if a situation arises on short notice making it impossible for you to come for your child.
Children become accustomed to routine. Picking up your child on time helps to alleviate their fears.
Dress your child in play clothes that may get dirty without upsetting you. Many times getting dirty is just a part of exploring. Dress your child in clothes that encourage self-sufficiency. Many trips to the bathroom are delayed because a child cannot remove clothes easily.
REMEMBER TO PLACE YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON ALL CLOTHING.
We go outdoors every day, weather permitting. Please dress your child in suitable outdoor clothing. Shoes are required at all times. No thongs, please. Each child should have a labeled change of clothing appropriate to the season. These are to be left at the school. Please send them in a clearly marked plastic bag.
Nap Time
If your child is staying all day, please supply him/her with
TWO SMALL BLANKETS IN A LABELED PILLOWCASE THAT CAN BE LEFT HERE. Blankets are sent home on Fridays to be laundered and should be returned to school clean on the following Monday.
