Mission
to Honduras
When people think
of "youth missions" today a mental image
of building churches and schools comes to mind. Building
churches and schools are good projects and serve God
and His people very well. However, youth have much
more to offer than laying cement block. Ten youth
from the Pleasant Hill Adventist Church are joining
20 or more youth from Minnesota and going to Honduras
for three weeks in March, 2005. The purpose is to
preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Several locations
have been identified as "preaching sites"
where youth will stand up and share thier convictions
for Jesus. Using computers and Power Point presentations,
these teenagers will lead visitors to a better understanding
of Jesus and the salvation He offers. They will pray
with people, study with people, call them to repentance,
and witness baptism. We have build schools and churches,
now we get to preach what these buildings are all
about.
In the process
of all this "good" preaching I expect these
young people will know Jesus better than ever before.
And we call that "missions."
